I bow my head to You my master who is like the God of Creation,
Sustenance, Destruction and omnipresent in us like the supreme knowledge
ज्ञानशक्तिसमारूढः तत्त्वमालाविभूषितः । भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदाता च तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥ Salutation to that noble Guru, who is established in the power of knowledge, adorned with the garland of various principles and is the bestower of prosperity and liberation.
गुरु गोविन्द दोऊ खड़े काको लागूं पायं।
बलिहारी गुरु आपने जिन गोविन्द दियो बताय ।।
असितगिरिसमंस्यात् कज्जलं सिंधुपात्रे सुरतरुवरशाखा लेखिनी पत्रमुर्वि । लिखति यदि गृहीत्वा शारदा सर्वकालं तदपि तव गुणाना मीश पारं न याति ।।
(Shiva Mahimna Stotra)
परीक्ष्य लोकान् कर्मचितान् ब्राह्मणो
निर्वेदमायान्नास्त्यकृतः कृतेन ।
तद्विज्ञानार्थं स गुरुमेवाभिगच्छेत्
समित्पाणिः श्रोत्रियं ब्रह्मनिष्ठम् ॥
(Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad 1.2.12)
Having examined all the worlds gained through कर्म (karma) and their rewards, the wise seeker realizes that the Imperishable Brahman cannot be attained by actions alone. Seeking the knowledge of the Supreme Reality, he should humbly approach a Guru with sacrificial firewood (samidh) in his hands—a Guru who is both a Śrotriya, learned in the scriptures, and a Brahma-niṣṭha, firmly established in the direct realization of Brahman. (Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad 1.2.12)
तद्विद्धि प्रणिपातेन परिप्रश्नेन सेवया ।
उपदेक्ष्यन्ति ते ज्ञानं ज्ञानिनस्तत्त्वदर्शिनः ॥
(Bhagvad Gita 4.34)
With humility, an earnest desire to learn, and a spirit of selfless service, approach those who have realized the Truth. They will reveal to you the wisdom of the Supreme Reality.
No matter how small we are or What color we might be, Like a small candle, We all can produce the same light. Spread light with Your thoughts, Your words, and Action.
It’s a dark world and you are here to create light.
